Canine Shoots

I don’t know about you, but my dogs are members of my family. We create so many memories throughout their little lives and they go through so much with us – adventures together exploring new places, zoomies on the beach and evenings curled up on the sofa together. There is something so special about the bond between dog and owner, and I am incredibly passionate about being able to show that through photography.

At the age of 13 I petitioned relentlessly to my Dad that we needed a greyhound in our lives, and for a year I determinedly tried to persuade him to give in and say yes. I was, of course, successful and we welcomed Alfie, a handsome big blue boy, into the family. Tragically we lost him a few months later in an accident and I am still so sad that I have barely any photos of him, and none with him. I wish we’d spent the time investing in memories we could keep forever and it has made me realise just how important getting those photos is in the long run! We’ve been blessed with two more greyhounds, and my whippet Remy, since then and in the last few years I’ve been trying to get better at capturing them, and having my photo taken with them, so that I will always have beautiful reminders to treasure.

Canine shoots can take place wherever and however you’d like! Every dog is different and some may prefer the comfort of their own home or garden for their session. Equally if you want to go on an adventure, I’m up for joining in! Worried about your dog needing to stay on the lead? Not a problem, thanks to some photoshop magic I’m able to make it disappear. I always encourage owners to be in the photos too, as I know none of us get nearly enough of us with our dogs day to day. The images will express you and your dog’s relationship, their own individual personality and each session is tailored to suit your needs!
